Avalanche


Free flowing with winters’ snow, this crystal clear river tumbles proudly out of the Maroon Bells and Raggeds Wilderness Areas, producing one of the most spectacular river trips in the world. Fast paced rapids are united together around every corner as are the Majestic 14,000 ft. peaks surrounding this jewel. So rare is this trip, we never see but a handful of people each year as few are aware it exists for its rafting and kayaking marvels. Without a doubt this is our “guides’ favorite”!

Crystal Flats


Don’t let the name fool you! There is still some action to be had in this lower section of the Crystal. Awesome views of Mt. Sopris will literally be right on top of you as we float the last leg of this tributary before it meets the valley floor in Carbondale. Just like its more difficult partner “Avalanche”, this trip is very rare. It only runs for a short time and few people get to experience this section of river.
